I am so blessed as I get to meet some of the most wonderful and inspiring people from the world. Recently at my Murrieta Nafe meeting at Rjs Sizzlin Steer lunch meeting Angela showed up. She was invited there by another good friend Gary Hawthorne who met Angela at the Temecula Old Town Farmers market recently and he told her about Nafe since he does our Nafe website and all our marketing white boards. Anyway she did come and actually was called by him about 15 minutes before the meeting was to start as when he met her he had no idea of the meeting dates and times. Well being the dynamic woman she is she jumped in the car and was there so we were blessed to all get to meet her. You know I always say that SHOWING UP is like a treasure map, well she was my treasure that day and I guess meeting all of us was her treasure.
I found in talking with her all the amazing things that she does and thought she would be great to do an article on and to introduce you all to this fantastic young and dynamic woman.
Her name is Angela Covany; let me share some information about her: She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and is an only child, she moved to Anaheim first and then when she was older she moved to Temecula where she has lived the last 15 years. She is married and has 5 children a daughter who will be starting college, a 15 year,13 year, 8 year old sons and a 6 year old daughter. Her husband is in construction. They live on land in the country that gives them room for animals and for their children to experience some country life with room to run and play.
Some of her passions are cooking and as I talked to her I learned that she was a gourmet cook and fixes every type of food, this cooking passion started at age 7. She loves reading and loves to write and has started 3 novels. Out of one of her novels came the idea for the adult coloring book which she created and published with Blue Star Publishing, the book is called Silver Lining Abstracts.
Angela has had a passion for art since she was young, Blue Star who is a big publisher of Adult coloring books saw one of her abstract photos and contacted her to show them more of her work and it was great that she had a large collection that she had done for over 15 years, they loved it.
Not only did they love her work and wanted her in their books they gave her a contract and that is how this first book got published, since then she has had one other published and is working on her third book.
Since Angela was young she has seen everything through artistic lenses. As an adult, she has learned to live her life always finding the silver lining in all things.
Her first book Silver Lining Abstracts allowed her to share her passion for illustrating and her passion for optimism to collaborate. Her images are thought provoking and provide the artist in every one of us a truly genuine experience.
Coloring used to be reserved for children and the occasional adult who got to babysit them, but recently, the activity has found a different demographic. What started as a niche hobby has now turned into an international trend, as adult coloring books find themselves on more and more bestsellers’ lists throughout the world. However, while this trend may be a fun way to pass the time, it’s the books’ therapeutic properties that really have them flying off shelves.
Art may not be able to cure disease, but it can surely make coping with it a lot better. Researchers have acknowledged the therapeutic qualities of art for years, and today, art therapy is used to help people express themselves when what they’re feeling is too difficult to put into words, such as when they’re faced with a serious illness or find themselves depressed or stressed..
The first adult coloring book she was in was called Holiday Parade and each of the 24 artists each submitted one picture,
Angela loves her working relationship with Blue Star as she said they are an amazing company to have a relationship with. Angela is a woman with a dynamic personality and such a great positive attitude, she is a great mother and wife and a talented artist and now also a member of our Murrieta Nafe group.
