John has already been hard at work going to garage sales and other places around the community to get donated shoes. That is one of the Menifee Valley LionsClub's fundraising projects collecting shoes of all sizes which include men and women shoes. John has been doing an outstanding job. Other members present were Marty Lanz, President, Steve Beatty Vice President, Kathy & David Liedke, Chuck & Denise Locke, Diane & Duke Swartz, Joan E Wakeland, and Robbie Motter; a few members were absent including Secretary Sue Lopez. Several other new members were there and they will be inducted at the next meeting, they are: Laura Roeder, Pauline Beatty, Dixie Roberts, Debbie Lanz, and Dennis Varhall. Debbie Lanz will be taking over as the Club’s treasurer. Guests attending were: Eric Cross and several members of the San Jacinto Lions Club.

Everyone at the Club looked fantastic in their new purple Menifee Valley Lions Club shirts, with their name pins.

Marty Lanz said “our new Club "Menifee Valley Lions Club" was recently able to help a young man who saw our Lions Club banner at LCL and stopped in to let him know that he needed glasses and had no money”.  The Lions Club as many know is about helping people that have sight problems.Marty told him to bring his prescription and now the Lions Club is working on getting this young man glasses so he can have his great eyesight back. The club is always looking for donations of glasses, shoes.

The Club will be taking a road trip to the La Habra Lions Club Corn Festival to help and to learn how to make funnel cakes so they can make them in Menifee at events to raise funds for the Club and other charities.

Some projects they are talking about doing is taking part in the Veterans Day Festival and Parade, so keep an eye out for these community minded individuals in the purple Lions Club shirts.

We are looking for additional members, the club meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at the LCL Conference Room at 7pm the meetings are exactly one hour, so come and join us call 951-672-3249  for more information on the Menifee Valley Lions Club, and just SHOW UP at their next meeting which will be August 18th.
